Requesting electronic rules from LSC |
Since electronic rule filing started four months ago, LSC has prepared,
reviewed, and released over 4,000 rules in XML form for agencies to use
when preparing electronic filings. This process has run relatively
smoothly so far, and in the interest of keeping it so, I offer a few
guidelines for requesting rules.
(1) Please submit all requests through the "Rule Filing Schedule" page on the Rule Filers' Website (http://filers.registerofohio.state.oh.us/). (2) Allow LSC at least 30 days to prepare the rules after receiving your request. Due to the high volume of requests at any one time, LSC cannot guarantee that rules will be ready sooner than 30 days after a request is submitted. The more advanced notice you give, the more likely the rule will be ready when you need it. (3) If a rule you need was adopted or amended after May 31, 2001, please allow even more than 30 days' notice. Rules that have taken effect since May 31, 2001, require much more time to prepare. (4) For each rule requested, designate the anticipated file date as well as the date you need the rule to begin drafting. Requests that do not specify both a "File Date" and a "Date Needed" will receive the lowest priority. But regardless of the Date Needed, LSC cannot guarantee that rules can be ready sooner than 30 days after a request is submitted. (5) In emergencies, LSC can occasionally expedite requests on a case-by-case basis. If you face an emergency, please contact the ERF Help Desk, 614-387-2078. Our ability to expedite requests will depend on the current volume of requests. Thank you, Jim Kelly, Supervisor Posted to the Rule Filers Mailing List on Feb 11, 2002 |
