Rule drafting: proofreading reminder |
Good afternoon, LSC and JCARR would like to remind filing agencies that it is your responsibility to assure the accuracy of your own documents by carefully proofreading rules before filing. LSC and JCARR received a number of requests from agencies in the last year asking if typos in filed rules could be corrected as compliance corrections. While LSC can correct some of these errors and omissions based on the standards presented in the LSC Rule Drafting Manual, agencies need to take greater responsibility for proofreading their rules to correct errors in the filed text PRIOR to final filing. Please take this into consideration for any upcoming rule filings that your agency may be preparing. LSC and JCARR also ask that you take a moment to proofread any pending rules that your agency may have already filed so that any errors or omissions in proposed text can be corrected prior to final filing. Thank you, Julie Hartzell Posted to the Rule Filers Mailing List on January 22, 2008 |
