FAQ - Electronic Rule Filing Website |
Q1. Where can I get instructions for completing an Original Filing? For other types of filings? A. The following complete and up-to-date instructions are available in the Step-by-Step Filing Instructions section of the Rule Filers Website:
Q2. When filing a Rescinded or No Change rule on paper, I was required to submit a copy of the existing version of the rule that has the signature certification and stamp. How do I do this electronically? A. The electronic version is acceptable without the stamp and certification. Q3. I tried to upload a .pdf or .xml file and received an error message stating "The uploaded document is not of the specified document type." A: You may have uploaded the incorrect file or selected the incorrect file type (xml or pdf). If you want to upload a .pdf document, select replace and make sure the file you browse and select has a .pdf file extension. If you want to upload an .xml document, select replace and make sure the file you browse and select has an .xml file extension. Q4: The rule I downloaded from the Register of Ohio rule repository has a typo or other errors. Why, and do I need to fix them? A: Occasionally, rules downloaded from the Register of Ohio rule repository may contain errors. These errors most likely occurred when the rule was being translated to an electronic format. If the errors are significant, such as a paragraph is missing or the error changes the meaning of the rule, please contact the ERF Help Desk at 614-387-2078. If the errors are minor (punctuation, spelling) and you are AMENDING the rule, we ask that you fix the errors when you amend the document in the Rule/RSFA Authoring System (RAS) software. If you are RESCINDING the rule, do not worry about minor errors. If the rule is a NO CHANGE, please contact the help desk so we can work with LSC to correct the errors. |
