Rule-filing kiosk

The Legislative Service Commission rule-filing kiosk is located within LSC's offices on the eighth floor of the Riffe Center, 77 South High Street, Columbus. The kiosk houses three workstations with the necessary software and is available free of charge for use by agency personnel. Its hours of operation are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, except for state holidays and any occasional times the General Assembly authorizes legislative agencies to close early. To provide opportunities for one-on-one assistance, the kiosk is staffed by a member of the development team every Monday, and on other days by appointment.

Agency personnel must reserve time in the kiosk in advance by calling the ERF Help Desk at 614-387-2078. Please inform the scheduler of the dates and times you would like to use the kiosk, plus how many of the three workstations you will need. The kiosk will be reserved on a first-come-first-served basis, within reason; LSC reserves the right to limit reservations of large blocks of time over several days so that the kiosk remains available for other agencies. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to assign agencies priority by rule-filing schedule, so agencies expecting imminent filings should secure their reservations early.

The development team expects that all who use the kiosk will have attended the RAS/ERF training courses beforehand. The kiosk is not a training facility. Of course, the team will use the kiosk to assist any untrained agency staffer facing an unexpected situation in which a rule must be filed before training can be arranged. But we expect that after an emergency is resolved, the person will follow up by attending the formal training sessions. The ERF training calendars are available on the Rule Filers Website.
